Another thing

I’m not sure if this exists with other cultures, but Vietnamese people are extremely fond of interfering with other people’s meals.

Let me explain. Pretend you’re dining with your family, happily munching on the food you picked out from the many dishes in front of you. Then, a wild relative appears and piles on all this food that they chose into your bowl with their grubby chopsticks that they’ve been chewing on for, oh, about an hour or so. They’re all like ‘eat it, eat!’ and it’s super effective, because you can’t reject their food in front of everybody and now you’re forced to eat it regardless of whether you wanted to or not.

I know this is the norm, but I think they overdo it. If I wanted to eat that little piece of fish, or that mushroom or those veggies, I would do it myself.

I wonder how much foreign saliva I’ve involuntarily swallowed this past month.
