Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority
What part of your brains shattered to make you think that getting rid of midyear examinations was a good idea? I’m not even affected by this ‘amendment’ and I’m outraged. Outraged for the students who have to go through five or more exams each covering an entire year’s worth of information. Because that, as you clearly can’t comprehend, is hell.
I do realise that some students already go through this if they haven’t chosen the sciences and/or accounting, and kudos to them, but for those that do, I think having midyears is more beneficial than not. Actually, I think the midyears are a far better indicator of students’ knowledge than the final exams. Only Unit 3 is tested, so the exams can be more in-depth, and thus better able to assess student ability.
I do not know why I’m so passionate about this, but VCAA, clearly you weren’t trying to gain any popularity points with this change.
